2024 Santa Slam FREESTYLE WRESTLING Tournament

For Ages Under 20 Years Old (1st June 2004)

Registering for competitions is now simpler than ever. IAWA full members can log into their membership profile on the new platform and sign up directly for the Santa Slam 2024.

International participants (wrestlers) traveling from outside the Republic of Ireland, including from Northern Ireland, must purchase either an 'International Event License' to complete the registration process for this event. This requirement ensures that all participants are properly registered and meet the necessary regulations for this international competition.

Weight & Age Divisions

Weight allowance: Male & Female – Freestyle Wrestling Female Under 18 with be matched on the day. U13, U11, U9s, will be matched on the day based on approximately a 2-year difference and 10% of their actual weight in accordance with IAWA guidelines.

When registering Under 13's on the registration platform. These lower age groups do not have specific weight categories on the registration page. They will be divided up into their age & weight groups after weigh-in on the day, U9 , 10-11 years, 12-13 years.

Under U13s- depending on the number of registrations, mixed gender categories will be allowed.

U13s will be required to input their current weight at the point of registration Pairings are at the discretion of the pairing master.

Weight allowance - 2kg Junior & 1 kg for cadets only.

Competitors in Junior and Cadets must be either at or lower than weight that they register for including the 2kg and 1kg allowance, but not heavier at the time of the weight-in. If the wrestler is over the weight specified, they will be removed from the competition without refund. Wrestlers must weigh-in in their wrestling singlet

Weigh in is at the venue – Sunday Morning 08:30am to 09:30am ONLY Weigh in at the venue only,

NO Video weigh in’s will be accepted

The IAWA reserves the right to modify entry criteria and pairing divisions at any time without prior notice.

Entry Fee - Early bird fee €25 for all divisions, The Early Bird closes Wednesday 27th November 20.00hr.

Regular entry fee €35.00 for all divisions.

All registrations will close on Sunday 1st December at 20:00hr.

No registrations will be accepted after this time.

Competitors can only register online if their IAWA membership is valid for 2024-25

NO Membership, NO WRESTLING.

Wrestlers travelling from outside the Republic of Ireland will be required to purchase an ‘Event License’ specific to this tournament. This can be done while registering on our website.

Coaches-

  1. IAWA Coaches memberships must be up to date.
  2. Coaches will be required to wear coach ID during the tournament.
  3. Coaches must be appropriately dressed in the corner. (Tracksuits only, No casual wear)
  4. All Coaches cornering at this tournament are bound by the IAWA Code of Conduct for Wrestlers.
  5. All Irish club secretaries are reminded that Clubs, Competitors and Coaches must be registered with the I.A.W.A
  6. Coaches must have current vetting certificate.

Age Divisions start from June 1st 2004
